In this installment, we’ll be moving on to the body, bringing our mystery character one step closer to coming alive. You’ll find step-by-step instructions, progress photos, and a video tutorial to keep you on track. And of course, the story continues as Nibbles follows the trail of his missing snacks while Tinsel keeps sneaking about. 🍬

Part 3 – The Mystery Deepens
With the head complete, our Christmas character finally has a face — and maybe even a few hints about who he might be. 👀 Some of you may already have a guess, but the story isn’t over yet!
In this part, we’ll crochet the body, giving our character the shape and sturdiness he needs for the adventures ahead. As you stitch, think about where Nibbles’ search might lead next… and whether Tinsel is really finished with his tricks. ✨
By the end of today’s section, your project will feel much more alive — almost ready to leap off the table and join in the holiday fun.

Materials You’ll Need
The materials needed are listed below or if you wish to see what I start off most of my projects with, then check out this post on “My Crochet Tools and Accessories that are Super Simple to Start With”. This time I will be working with chunky weight yarn.
Yarn
Himalayan Dolphin or Dolce Yarnart or any equivalent chunky weight yarn for main piece
Brown (100g)
Dark brown (100g)
White (100g)
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn for accessories
Black (25g)
White (25g)
Crochet Hooks
4.5mm Etimo Tulip crochet hook
3.0mm Clover Soft Touch crochet hook
Rest of Supplies
Darning needle
Filling – use leftover yarn or polyester fiberfill

Terminology You’ll Need
Here I have listed the techniques needed to crochet just this first part . Each one is individually linked if you need to learn more about how to master each technique, or you could check out this post on “How to Learn Basic Crochet Stitches step by step for Absolute Beginners - 6 Easy Steps!”.
Basic Crochet Stitches
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)
Special Crochet Stitches
2dc6 = 2 double crochet in next 6 stitches
Sc3tog1 = single crochet 3 together
= insert hook in indicated, yo, pull up loop, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up loop, repeat another 1 times, yo, pull through all loops on hook
(or single crochet cluster stitch)
Sc4tog1 = single crochet 4 together
= insert hook in indicated, yo, pull up loop, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up loop, repeat another 2 times, yo, pull through all loops on hook
Dc5tog1 = double crochet 5 together
= yo, insert hook in indicated, yo, pull up loop, yo, draw through 2, [yo, insert hook in next, yo, pull up loop, yo, draw through 2] 4 times, (6 loops on hook), yo, pull through all loops on hook
5dc pop = 5 double crochet popcorn stitch
5dc in indicated, remove hook from loop, insert hook through 1st dc of 5-dc group, replace loop on hook, yo, draw tightly through loop and st on hook

Add more stuffing inside head
