Crochet Heart Cookie Pattern (Free Valentine Biscuit Amigurumi Tutorial)
Looking for a cute and easy Valentine’s Day crochet idea? This heart biscuit amigurumi is a fun twist on my popular Christmas Tree Biscuit pattern — just in a sweet heart shape! The icing is crocheted in the round to give it that smooth, puffy finish, while the biscuit layer is worked in rows for a realistic cookie texture.

Introduction to Crocheting Heart Cookie
In this post, we will first be starting off with the relevant supplies and techniques you would need to crochet this small heart biscuit. Here to make this heart, we will first be making the icing on top in pink and then the biscuit below in brown. Then we will head into the pattern proper.
As this is an ambitious beginner friendly pattern, here you will learn how to crochet a 3D heart shape in rounds and a flat heart shape in rows. Then we assemble them all together.

Supplies and Techniques for Crocheting a Valentine Cookie
Here I have listed the techniques as well as the materials needed to crochet both the icing component on top and biscuit part below. Terminology for Crocheting Heart Biscuit
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)

Surface sc = surface single crochet

Materials and Tools for Crocheting Heart Biscuit
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Pink, Brown (25gm each)
Red, White (stash)
Darning needle
Scissors

Now that you have gathered your supplies and had a look at the basic terminology to reading the following pattern, let us first get started!
Yarn
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Crochet hook
2.5-3.0mm Clover crochet hook
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill
Darning Needles
Safety Eyes
4mm glass eyes or safety eyes
Stitch Markers
Plastic stitch markers or metal stitch markers
Crochet Heart Icing On Top
Use light pink yarn for the icing, use brown yarn for the biscuit.
Here use pink yarn to make the whole heart icing which is to be placed at the top.
Round 1: Magic ring sc3 - 3st
Round 2: 2sc3 - 6st
Round 3: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 3 - 9st
Round 4: (Sc2, 2sc1) x 3 - 12st
Round 5: (Sc3, 2sc1) x 3 - 15st
Round 6: (Sc4, 2sc1) x 3 - 18st
Round 7: (Sc5, 2sc1) x 3 - 21st
Round 8: (Sc6, 2sc1) x 3 - 24st
Round 9: Skip 12st, sc1, place stitch marker here, sc11 - 12st
Round 10: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 3 - 9st
Round 11: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 3 - 6st
Round 12: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 2 - 4st
Close up and end off.
No stuffing is needed for this piece.
Work into Round 8, surface crochet in the middle with slip knot first with opposite sides together and work in clockwise direction, place stitch marker at beginning of round,
Round 9: 2sc1, sc11 - 12st
Round 10: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 3 - 9st
Round 11: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 3 - 6st
Round 12: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 2 - 4st
Close up and end off in FLO.
Sew up any gaps in the middle. No stuffing is needed, the piece is meant to be flat.
Crochet Heart Biscuit At Bottom
Use brown yarn to make this heart biscuit, to be placed at the bottom.
Row 1: Ch2
Row 2: Work into 2nd ch from hook, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 2st
Row 3: 2sc2, ch1 and then - 4st
Row 4: 2sc1, sc2, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 6st
Row 5: 2sc1, sc4, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 8st
Row 6: 2sc1, sc6, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 10st
Row 7: 2sc1, sc8, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 12st
Row 8: 2sc1, sc10, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 14st
Row 9: 2sc1, sc12, 2sc1, ch1 and turn - 16st
Row 10: Sc8, turn - 8st
Row 11: Sc2tog1, sc4, sc2tog1, turn - 6st
Row 12: Sc2tog1, sc2, sc2tog1, turn - 4st
Row 13: Sc2tog2, turn - 2st
Row 14: Sc2tog1 and end off - 1st
Surface slip knot with brown yarn to middle of Row 9.
Row 10: Sc8, ch1 and turn - 8st
Row 11: Sc2tog1, sc4, sc2tog1, turn - 6st
Row 12: Sc2tog1, sc2, sc2tog1, turn - 4st
Row 13: Sc2tog2, turn - 2st
Row 14: Sc2tog1 and end off - 1st
Make a second piece, place them on top of each other, and continue in rounds.
Round 1: Sc1 in same previous stitch, place stitch marker at this start of round, sc5 at top half of heart, then sc7 down to bottom, 2sc1 right at bottom, sc7 similarly on opposite site, sc5 at top half of heart, sc6 from top to middle, sc7 from middle back to starting point again - 40st
Round 2: Sl st 1 and end off - 1st
Detailing with Sprinkles
There is the light pink icing that was worked into round and the brown heart biscuit that was worked into rows.
Place pink heart on top of the brown heart and sew both pieces together using mattress stitch so the stitches are not visible along the edges.
Then use white and red yarn to sew down sprinkles on top of the pink heart at random locations across 1 stitch each.
