Terminology for Crocheting Candy Cane
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)
Materials and Tools for Crocheting Candy Cane
3.5mm Furls Streamline Blush crochet hook
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Version 1 - White, Maroon (25gm each)
Version 2 - White, Bright Red (25gm each)
Darning needle
Filling – use leftover yarn or polyester fiberfill

Now that you have gathered your supplies and had a look at the basic terminology to reading the following pattern, let us first get started!
Yarn
Fingering weight yarn - Scheepjes Catona
Maroon x 1 (25g)
Or Red x 1 (25g)
Darning Needles
Crochet hook
Stitch Markers
Plastic stitch markers or metal stitch markers
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill
Crochet Candy Cane Pattern
Start off making candy cane with white yarn. Get ready to switch to red in 2nd round.
Round 1: Magic ring sc6 (white) - 6st
Round 2: 2sc1 (white), 2sc1 (red), 2sc1 (white), 2sc1 (white then red), 2sc1 (red then white), 2sc1 (white) - 12st
Round 3: Sc2 BLO (white), sc2 BLO (red), sc3 BLO (white), sc2 BLO (red), sc3 BLO (white) - 12st
Round 4: Sc2 (white), sc2 (red), sc3 (white), sc2 (red), sc3 (white) - 12st
Rounds 5-8 (4 rounds): Repeat Round 4 - 12st
Round 9: Sc1 (white), 2sc1 (white), 2sc1 (red), sc3 (white), sc1 (red), sc2tog1 (red), sc2tog1 (white), sc1 (white) - 12st
Round 10: Sc2 (white), 2sc1 (white), 2sc1 (red), sc3 (white), sc1 (red), sc2tog1 (red), sc2tog1 (white) - 12st
Round 11: Sc3 (white), 2sc1 (white), 2sc1 (red), sc2 (white), sc2tog1 (white), sc2tog1 (red), sc1 (red) - 12st
Round 12: Sc2tog1 (white), sc3 (white), 2sc1 (red), 2sc1 (white), sc2 (white), sc1 (red), sc2tog1 (red) - 12st
Rounds 13-31 (19 rounds): Repeat Round 12 - 12st
Rounds 32-43 (12 rounds): Same as Round 12
Add stuffing throughout.
Round 44: Sc4 (white), sc2 (red), sc4 (white), sc2 (red) - 12st
Rounds 45-63 (19 rounds): Repeat Round 44 - 12st
Add stuffing in between the rounds as needed.
Round 64: Sc2tog2 BLO (white), sc2tog1 BLO (red), sc2tog2 BLO (white), sc2tog1 BLO (red) 6st
Close up in FLO in white and end off.
