Free Iron Man crochet tutorial

1.jpg

Try your hand at making this mini Iron Man, with a switch up to making mixed coloured bobble stitches. This is a step-up from my previous free Hulk pattern. We all have to start from somewhere and I’m not proud to say my oldest iron man was very ugly. It got a little better… at the end, I’ll even show you my latest Hulkbuster!

Terminology

Ch = chain

Sc = single crochet (2sc1 means 2 single crochet in same ch)

Sl st = slip stitch

Round 11: 2sc10 (red) – 20st

Round 12: Sc8 (red), 9th arm, sc6 (red), 16th arm, sc4 (red) – 20st

(Bobble stitch for arms = top half yellow, bottom half red

From the 8th single crochet in Round 12, you will have 1 red loop on hook

Yarn over yellow, insert hook, yarn over yellow again, draw yellow yarn through –> you will have 2 yellow loops and 1 red loop on hook. Then draw red yarn through 2 yellow loops on hook –> you will have 2 red loops on hook

Repeat process: yo yellow, insert hook, yo yellow and draw yellow yarn through –> you will have 2 yellow loops and 2 red loops on hook. Then draw red yarn through 2 yellow loops on hook –> you will have 3 red loops on hook

Repeat again: yo yellow, insert hook, yo yellow and draw yellow yarn through –> you will have 2 yellow loops and 3 red loops on hook. Then draw red yarn through 2 yellow loops on hook –> you will have 4 red loops on hook

Repeat last time: yo yellow, insert hook, yo yellow and draw yellow yarn through –> you will have 2 yellow loops and 4 red loops on hook. Then draw red yarn through 2 yellow loops on hook –> you will have 5 red loops on hook

Then pull through red yarn through all 5 red loops on hook and sc1 in next main stitch.)
